    I would argue that creating a banned book list is a good thing. The controversy and discussion actually inspire people to read more books. However, in the current world, the idea of banning books would seem to be a moot point. The actual number of students and reading books and the number of books read would appear to be a very small percentage of the overall population. With that being said the real issue with the banned books list is that it is just a starting point. If books are allowed to be banned without protest, what would be the next media source would be banned or censored?
